10.11.2026 | Jesus Healed a Blind Man
John 9:1-41
Have you ever walked into a room at night and realized you couldn’t see anything? Maybe you tried to grab something off a table and ended up knocking over half of what was on it. When the lights are off, even the most familiar places feel confusing. But the moment you flip the switch, everything becomes clear again.
In John 9, Jesus met a man who didn’t just deal with darkness at night—he had been blind his entire life. He had never seen the sky, the faces of his friends, or even his own shadow. People around him wondered whose fault it was that he was born blind, but Jesus told them something important: this man’s situation would show God’s power.
Jesus made mud with His hands, placed it on the man’s eyes, and told him to wash in the pool of Siloam. And when the man washed the mud away, something amazing happened—he could see! For the first time ever, light flooded into his eyes.
But this miracle wasn’t just about physical sight. Jesus came to bring light into the darkness of our hearts. Like the blind man needed Jesus to open his eyes, we need Jesus to open our spiritual eyes. Without Him, we’re stuck in the dark—confused, lost, and unable to see God clearly.
When we trust in Jesus, He forgives our sins and helps us understand who God is, what’s true, and how to follow Him. He gives us spiritual sight so we can see life the way God wants us to see it.
Jesus came to bring light into the darkness. He healed the blind man to show God’s power and to point to a greater truth: Jesus came to give spiritual sight. When we trust in Him, He forgives our sin and helps us see and know God.
Pray: Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the world. Thank You for opening the eyes of the blind man and for opening the hearts of believers to see who You are. Show us what’s true, help us turn away from sin, and guide us to walk in Your truth. Amen.
