05.03.2026 | Jesus’ First Miracle
John 2:1-11
Have you ever seen a caterpillar turn into a butterfly? At first, it’s just a little bug crawling along leaves. But then it wraps itself in a cocoon, and something amazing happens. After some time, it comes out completely different—bright, beautiful, and able to fly! It’s not just a better caterpillar—it’s a brand-new creature!
That’s kind of like the miracle Jesus did at a wedding. The party was going well until they ran out of wine, which was a big problem in those days. Mary, Jesus’ mother, told Him about it. Jesus told the servants to fill six big jars with water. Then, something incredible happened: Jesus turned the water into wine—and not just any wine, but the very best.
This was Jesus’ first miracle. He didn’t do it to show off. He did it to help others and to show that God was with Him. Jesus came to save people from their sin and to bring new life through His greatest miracle—the resurrection. For those who believe in Jesus, they aren’t just better; they are a new creation in Christ!
Jesus changed water into wine, revealing His glory and showing that He is God. Like the disciples, we can believe in Jesus. Those who trust in Jesus are saved from their sin and changed to become more like Jesus.
