08.02.2026 | Jesus Taught about Prayer

Luke 11 :1-13; 18:1-14

The very first cell phone came out in 1973. It was about 1 O inches long and weighed almost 2 pounds! It definitely wasn't something you could fit in your pocket. It was like carrying around a brick with a battery that only lasted 20 minutes of talk time!

Even with all its limitations, that first phone allowed people to connect with others across long distances. That's like prayer-which is our way of staying connected with God. Jesus taught His followers to pray, showing them that no matter where they are or what's happening, they can talk to God anytime-and He's always listening.

Prayer isn't about fancy words; it's about being honest with God. You can tell Him anythingyour worries, your joys, or even your questions. And even if it feels like God isn't answering you right away, you can keep talking to Him and trusting that He hears you and cares for you.

Through His work on the cross, Jesus made it possible for us to come to God in prayer. We can approach Him with confidence, knowing that He hears us and wants to have a relationship with us. Whenever you are in need, take the time to talk to God and experience His peace through prayer.

Jesus taught people to keep praying. God is a good Father who will give His people what they need. The most important prayer we can pray is to tell God we have sinned and ask for His forgiveness. Jesus died on the cross and rose again so sinners can be made right with God.
